The Academic Dean reports to a Campus Director. Responsibilities: The Program Coordinator is a unique position for career-minded and goal-oriented individuals to experience an entrepreneurial, values-driven culture; a rapidly growing business driven by societal and educational trends; a robust and defined career path; and most importantly, the opportunity to positively impact the lives of aspiring students and their communities. The employee will leverage his/her experience to teach and counsel students within Rasmussen’s HIT Program. Additional responsibilities include: Maintain Health Information Technician, Medical Coding, and Medical Transcriptionist program goals and standards, at the campus level, that provide the basis for program planning, implementation, evaluation, and support. Teach 12 - 16 courses per year, averaging three or four per quarter Ensure ongoing program evaluation and improvement of the campus Health Information Technician, Medical Coding, and Medical Transcriptionist programs with development and use of program evaluation plan. Coordinate CAHIIM graduation and employer satisfaction survey requirements at the campus level. Assist in maintaining and coordinating program professional accreditation through CAHIIM at the campus level, as well as academic accreditation through the State of Minnesota and all other accrediting agencies. Work as part of the college-wide HIT team with the guidance of the Health Science Curriculum Coordinator to coordinate and manage curriculum, course packets, current text, and standard exams. Coordinate instruction and clinical site education policy in accordance with the Health Information Technician Standards. Ensure that the quality of the clinical education components of the Health Information Technician program at the campus are aligned with the entry-level competencies and adhere to the Manual for Clinical Practicum Assist with the coordination of the metro-area HIT Advisory Board meetings Work with admissions and career advisor to promote the program Work with Career Services and School Director to strategize and support achievement of placement goals Assist in providing academic and professional guidance for students Participate in the strategic planning process, and whenever necessary, be aware of and respond to concerns raised by students, peers, administration, and the community.
