Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and surgeon, functions as a perioperative team member to provide organized and efficient services for surgical procedures. Performs a technical role within the surgical environment utilizing efficient, safe, effective and economical judgement in the selection, preparation, organization, use and care of supplies and instrumentation on surgical procedures. Is able to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly to emergency needs. Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military - trained (transcripts, service certificate, letter of demonstrated competence) or Florida LPN with surgical experience. Must have previous surgical scrub experience or demonstrated proficiency during training. Basic Life Support certification is required.
