Tai Chi Training Group forming in Ocala.
The purpose of the group will be to train traditional Chen Style Taiji (Tai Chi).

I am going to make the classes accessible for both people who want to train tai chi for health and fitness but also for people who want to learn the martial art for self defense.
The way we can do this is to have a two hour class. The first hour will always consist of tai chi training for the body.
This could be form, ?silk reeling? exercises, qigong, standing meditation and other fitness exercises to build the ?tai chi body?. In other words the class is aimed at building a body that is relaxed, rooted, strong and flexible.
The second hour will be focused on application for self defense and will include pushing hands and other drills and teaching applications directly from Chen style or from other styles that work with this method.
People who are not interested in the martial side will be welcome to stay and continue to work on their own.
This should be a safe, fun and beneficial class for everybody. It is open to all ages and fitness levels. It is not, however, a ?senior tai chi? class for the frail elderly. I may do that at another time but this class will be a challenging workout.
Of course if someone has a physical limitation the training can be modified a little.
